Haagen Dazzy Day

Did you get your Ben and Jerry's free cone?

I didn't!

I was treated HAAGEN DAZZZZ Ice Creaaaam instead!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Was craving fer Midnight Cookies and Cream Ice Cream, but it ain't there anymore! (And fer a looooongest time, it hadn't been back. Please come back.)

I settled fer Belgium Chocolate instead.
And I was as happy as a lark with a Korean movie to boot!

Hurhurhur, it was Alvin’s virginal R(21) movie and he thanked me fer watching with him. LOL.
I think he should thank me more fer watching Harold & Kumar with him instead cause I watched no. 1 in tears (figuratively), it was a total waste of time (especially so when we watched it in Japan) seeing these 2 lame nongsense going to White Castle just to get their burgers.(!!!)
The only consolation was when they had these 2 women having a diarrhoea competition at the ladies which made me laugh. - Incredulous.

And today, Alvin and I planned to WALK all the way to eat at Fei Fei’s Wantan Mee at Joo Chiat.
However, we threw in the towel under the sweltering heat and ended up at PP’s air-conditioned food court . Hurhurhur.
Which I think was God planned cause..

No.1, I met Pat and Vannessa at PP.
Haven't seen them fer a long time and what purrfect timing, Pat just got back to Singapore yesterday.
Gotta catch up with her soon!

No. 2, I got myself a diamante letter ‘E’ pendent and chain.

No. 3, I finally bought a watch after my Tissot died out on me in Korea at the same old shop where I got my ol’ watch!
Had been scouting one fer months cause my eyes would always fall upon men's watches.
Most of the time, I think their designs are a tad much nicer.

No. 4, Alvin got himself a pair of new earphones!

To conclude incoherently,
Haagen Dazzzzzzz beats Ben & Jerry's handsdown.
Who cares about 318 calories and 20.7g of fat?!?!

On a side note, I am onto the CALENDARS topic now computing the Easter holiday. *sniffs*

Ski Resort - 20- 22 Dec'07

Headed to Yeong Pyong Ski Resort 2 days after crit, 4 hrs journey from school.

Ooo.. as we approached the ski jang, everywhere was covered with snow!
There’s just no snow at HYU. Ptf.

Tried skiing before (like 9 years back?!), so it’s snowboarding this time round!

Shi Jie and Harvey in their gear.

Jisu had a hard time teaching me how to snowboard. (took the left slope)
Only managed to learned how to fall safely as it happened every few secs. -.-

Getting out from the ski-lift fer the first time was yet another challenge.
I slid off with snowboard attached while getting out.

Still, it was a wonderful experience snowboarding with so many friends around you.
But nothing could beat what happened later at night and the next morning!

(It reads: HELLO EVERYONE!)

The Koreans were simply wild. Especially my tutor.
We gathered at the guys room and made such a massive mess there.

Prof Yoo ignited their traditional drinking party by blending concoctions of weird stuff from mandu (dumpling) to cheese and chocolate biscuit crackers, stew, beer, shoju (rice wine), mango juice, tangerines etc fer us to imbibe.

Of course he wasn’t spared from downing the -Undrinkable- either.
Bleargh. And neither was I.

He specially mixed it fer me, with strips of cuttlefish in it. Sick, thought I would CMI cause my alcohol threshold ain’t great, but hey, I was ok!

This drink in the middle was not ours but CJ’s. Eew.
I had a hand in it too!

Some racy photos of Harvey and Otak..
Managed to call it a night when almost everyone underwent the torment .

The next morning, Tiff and I went to snowboard again!

Not before I wrote my name on snow..

And me getting all geared up fer the magical ride of my life.

IT HAPPENED ALL OF A SUDDEN.
Swoosh! And I started snowboarding down the slope with less than 5 falls.

What newfound experience I had! It was just heavenly, zipping down the carpet of snow with many other skiers and boarders, (Could even avoid them, but only to the right. Haha.)
Plus the cool wind beating onto my face.
Snowboarding’s really a cooooooooooool sport.

Alas, my calfs ached terribly after 3 more attempts down the slope.
That’s what you get fer not exercising fer a year.

Then Tiff and I decided to be adventurous by boarding down another intermediate slope.

Spotted a cable car service and took that instead of the usual ski-lifts.
And up and UP we go, thinking it would bring us to the slope we wanted.

Hahaha. And the cable car wouldn’t stop at where we wanted!

It went on and ON and ON fer 40 mins.
CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!

Tiff even took a nap.
What the heavens.

Anyway, I took some pictures and just enjoyed the hilly scenery, spying at people who looked like multi-coloured ants zipping down hills after hills after hills.

When we reached the topmost station, we shook our heads and smiled sheepishly at the station masters, indicating we’re not getting out. Hurhurhurhurhurhurrrrrr.

Cause we don’t have the ability to snowboard down.
Unless we’re champions like the lady whom I saw backpacked her baby as she skied. I just think that’s utterly irresponsible of her, risking her child’s life.

Whatever. So we endured another 40mins down the cable car again.

It’s just a waste of 1½ hours, la!

The first person we met and complained to was Jisu after we reached the base.
He was surprised that we bought the 10,000 won (SGD16) cable car ticket just to view the scenery.
Earlier that morning, he and a few others snowboarded down the Dragon Peak slope.

O, so that was the Dragon Peak (highest slope) the ultimate course fer skiers and boarders and it’s S$16 to get up there.

We didn’t pay a single cent. The stationmasters overlooked our passes.
Hur. whatever, only felt consoled after that.

So that’s fer the whole day and by the 3rd day, we’re all dead beaten.
*Splat* *Splat* *Splattered*

Crit Day at HYU

Finally had the time to blog.

Backtracking to ~5 months ago cause just days ago it was like déjà vu.*Shudders*

It’s SUBMISSION. What else.
Sleepless nights.

However, the previous submission would be one I’d never ferget.
It was snowing heavily the night whilst making model.

Sun Ki and Shi Jie kept calling me out to play but I refused because of work.
Alas, the thick layer of snow proved too tempting and I really thanked God I relented as it was the only time where the whole campus was covered in a thick bed of snow in December.

Sun Ki greeted me with a flying snow ball as soon as I reached the ground floor. It was darn painful!!
The rest was history. We snow fought, built a snowman and fought again.
Pictures are still with Tiff, wonder when can I get it from her.

What resulted were frost bitten hands and they were smarting as I slogged through later on that night.

I was blessed enough to have a godsend helper, Yoon Sun, whom my tutor handpicked to help me with model making.

I had her make trees and a few rooms fer me.
She’s a freshman with a good grasp of English and.. she smokes. Haha.

There, my snowy white model and Yoon Sun!

Crit was held at Seoul.

4 from each studio (including me) plus several seniors protected the precious models and panels in a jam packed bus along the way to Raemen Exhibition Hall.

Once there, we had to help build pedestals by screwing boards after boards of wood in time fer the exhibition the next evening..
They were really hands on.

And all I have to say, crit day was fun too!
While waiting fer my turn, I was furiously knitting (yea, KNITTING) a woolly scarf fer Alvin fer Christmas. (I shall show it off in time to come)
But hand me two knitting needles now and I’d just shove it up your nostrils. I totally fergot how to knit. Sigh. Knitting’s a great skill to posses.

Anyways, I was pleasantly surprised when they presented certificates to outstanding students and I was one of the recipients. Coincidentally, my 2 other studio mates who received it were from the same display corner as me!

Here’s something fer an eyeball rolling moment
ShiJie overheard a Singaporean saying, ‘Haiya, we’d sure get the award one la.’ And when he/she didn’t, ‘Maybe they cannot give the award to all the Singaporeans..’ GUESS WHO! Sheesh.
A total of 5 out of 7 Singaporeans snagged the award.

It was photo taking time!

With my studio mates.

With my closer Korean mates!

With Shi Jie and Miao.

Prof Yoo took my studio out to celebrate afterwards.
A 10 COURSE SASHIMI DINNER!

Seriously, I had never seen some of the seafood displayed in front of me before.

‘Eat eat eat!’ to which I graciously did and spat a few odd balls out. Hurhurhur.

Dinner doesn’t end here.
Prof Yoo booked an entire café fer us a few roads down.

It’s in a traditional Korean house but with a Moroccan themed interior.

Ordered various exotic drinks from something shisha-like, to rare Korean tea which required sophisticated brewing.

Then, it was stroll down Seoul’s scenic cobbled streets with art galleries almost everywhere..

Gee, isn’t this how life should be?..

Light as a Feather

Good day folks!

Submission is finally over!
Feeling as light as a feather. (God, Literally too please)

Shall confess over having great results as this is the year of manifested blessings!

Tis’ final submission is also something to talk about whereby going to church a week prior to submission is unprecedented!
Printed panels very early!

Thank you darLIN fer helping and encouraging me too!
And to my parents fer buying breakfast at 6+am and having crunchy sweet apples to eat every night. Hurhur.

God really multiplied my time! Thank you! MUAH!
Looking forward to Miracle Seed Sunday!

And here’s a long due letter from Serene to be posted up!

Dear Emily,

Greetings from down under. Life is really good over here and I miss you badly.. You got to be the sweetest angel ever. Physically, you are beautiful. Mentally, u are intelligent. Socially, you are a good company. Honestly, you got to be a friend I never had.

Time flies. Though I haven’t been spending time with you over the recent years because of school, our friendship will always be in my heart. I will always remember the times we had in TPJ and how we had fun during PE and admiring my tennis coach…

Thanks for visiting me at my place before I went for my SEP. You are dearly missed.

Once a best friend, always a best friend…

Loving you,
Serene…

I’ll be writing you a sweeeeeeet one too, I promise!

Taken during CNY!

Fer now, it’s FACIAL before catching a monthly movie outing with darLIN!
And having a pre-exam dinner with Foursome.
Heavenly Mathematics?, I only know 10% of you. I’ll get a 100% by 8th May in Jesus’ name, Amen!

Ahh…… and it’s off to beauty sleep now before the fabulous facial therapy..

Splash of Harmony - 29 March

It's nice to be back once in a while!
Fond memories flooded back as we stepped into our Secondary school again!

Remembered the places where I got punished for mostly, talking, vividly.

‘Emily, you love to talk right? Come here.’

‘This is what happens when you talk too much.’ Mrs K. proceeded to scrape cheek cells off my mouth, put it under the microscope and invited the entire class to view it.

Thanks so mush. That was in Sec 2.

Welcome to CHIJ Katong secondary school!

Our ex discipline mistress told us it’s gonna suffer from the same fate (torn and rebuilt) as our primary school in a year or two from now!
Upon hearing that, we took scours of photos, from the foundation stone to the facade etc.

Here we are at the canteen.

It’s literally a wet market on Family Day.
Regina said when we were sec 4, we sold Konnyaku Jellies. I hardly remember that event. Haha. And Amanda said we made the jellies at Regina’s house. Did I?!

Outside the canteen, we took turns taking photo, just like what we did on Racial Harmony Day in school 6 years ago, only that we were adorned with saris and whatnots back then.

Regina being retarded. Haha.

The hop scotch and DaiDee stall which my sister's class mend!

Total rip off. 1dollar fer playing hopscotch/ DaiDee.

The familiar route which we took to rush from class to the canteen fer lunch break.

Regina and I were from Guides!

At the foyer. Teaching Regina how to eat chicken nuggets the correct way by waving it around the head first fer the essence to be out.

This is one of the gardens.

No one’s here, so Regina started jumping first……

Seriously, do we look like 22s.
No.

Next to our ex Sec4/6 class.
The tables and chairs have changed to these kiddish looking colours!

Luckily, the layout remained the same. Found our respective seats and sat there as we were in sec4.

At the library, Regina was stunned at what Candice was going to do next.

Finally, the hall.. Where celebrations, masses, ceremonies, concerts, etc were held..

All these are going to be gone soon, but the memories will surely stay with us.
