Koreans in Town - Day 2

Co Seng and Harvey brought them to Rangoon Road’s famous Bak Kut Teh (Pig Bone Soup) stall fer breakfast.
They loved it!

Met them in the afternoon.

They visited the Esplanade, City Hall and Supreme Court.
And like almost all tourist, they imitated Stamford Raffles.

Along Cavenagh Bridge to Fullerton Hotel.

Took the underpass route to the Merlion attraction!
STB’s gimmicks really pull it off.

To us, it’s just another Merlion.

To them, it’s loads of photo-taking opportunity.

I suggest they should dot our tiny island with many merlions just like the multifarious Dol Hareubang in Jeju Island.

Domesticated and Spurting Merlion!

Walked around Orchard’s shopping belt next.

Gawd, they actually spent 1.5hours at Tangs choosing Kwang Woon’s purrfect sunglass.
Alas, Kwang Woon’s chosen sunglass was not mean to be.
The only pair left had defects on it.

Dinner at Sanur Indonesian Restaurant with Co Seng, Miao, Alvin, Shijie and his friend.
The food was a MINUS 10.

Rice Table’s so much better than theirs.

Shijie, Alvin and I brought them to Night Safari at 9pm!

It’s been 14 years since I last stepped in.

Can vaguely remember a thing.
Everything was a blur partly due to the haze.

All I could recall was the dreadful tram ride.

To an 8 year old child, my maid told me I could die from the haze if the psi hits 200.
My future seemed so bleak and I was really upset during the whole trip.
I couldn’t breathe.
My mom scolded her fer it. Hurrr.

So this time, everything’s still so new to me!

The first thing that greeted us was the Hissing Cockroaches..

It was a fun cause we’re lucky to spot the animals!
To boot, about 90.597% were wide awake.

(the decimal place for animals that are slightly awake)

The Most Active/Playful Award would definitely go to the OTTERS!
If I could take the family of otters home, I would.

They communicate with the most unique sound.

Simply adorable.

It's full moon - Werewolf Alert!

Had a one-of-a-kind experience at the Bats Enclosure.
The sudden and swift movements of the bats flying around us all the time almost gave me a heart attack.

This enclosure is definitely not fer the weak hearted.

Managed to go fer all the attractions sans the tram ride which we could actually view A LITTLE more animals. It cost 10bucks more, so no thanks.

Headed to the souvenir shops and this was what we did as a memento.
I wanted an animal stuff toy, but it was too ex. S$32.90.
A polar bear costs S$100+.

Jisu and Kwang Woon each bought a nice wood beaded bracelet fer themselves and an Orchid cum Merlion magnet.

The night did not end here!

Went back to bathe before walking over to Shijie’s house to play Nintendo Wii.
I was such an excellent boxer till I found the game boring after beating Alvin to it all the time.
Or rather Wii’s boring to me after playing a few rounds of the same game.

Felt so retarded when I had to punch the Wiimote and Nunchuk aggressively into the air.
Why not fishing or rowing dragonboat in Wii. Hurhurhur.

Fer the rest (plus Co Seng and Miao), it was also soju drinking session.

Finally, guess what animal is this?!

Koreans in Town- Day 1

Last weekend was power-packed!

Jisu and his (read)DRINKING buddy, Kwang Woon, came to town last Friday.

Stopped over at Singapore before heading to Down Under for work and to study English fer 2 years..

My, Jisu reeeeeeally kept his promise to visit us one year after we left Korea.

Their maiden ride on SQ plane!

My dad welcomed them at the airport in the afternoon.
Can’t imagine how silly he looked holding up a piece of paper stating ‘JISU’

Toa Payoh HDB Hub was their first stop of the day.
There they had Chendol and Ice-Kachang at the heartland before fetching my mum from work.

Fer dinner, Shijie (designated driver), Co Seng, Harvey and I brought them to ECP’s food center to feast on Local Delights.
Satay, BBQ Stingray, Hokkien Mee, Rojak, Oyster Omelette, you name it all!

Kwang Woon drank Coconut but he didn’t really like it.

I don’t like Coconuts either hurhur.

It’s the Attack of the King and Queen of Fruits next at Geylang!
The Queen, Mangosteen, is a cooling fruit, a perfect antidote to heaty fruits like the His Majesty, Durian.
Rambutans were added in as sidekick.

Was so glad that they could take Durians! 3 fleshy seeds each!
But they found Mangosteen best. Sad.

Durian, it’s an acquired taste afterall.

Treated them to Bakwa before we toured The Infamous Fish Tanks.
International bossomy fishes, fishes eating satay while waiting to be hooked up and trans-fishes.Jisu and Kwang Woon kept laughing though I don't find it amusing.

But I had the last laugh.
Shijie booked Joo Chiat Hotel 51 fer them cause Hotel 81’s weekend prices were more steep.
Next to 51 was a sleazy pub. Hurhur.

When the lift door opened, a drunked ah pek with his arm over a C-cup lady greeted us.
I can’t help it but started laughing after we went out of the lift.

‘Jisu, you can have BIG FISH tonight too!’
‘Nooooooooooooo……..’

LOL.

Money plant!

HAHA

SUPER TIGER HAPPY TODAY! *ROARS*

It’s PAYDAY TIME!

My first ever pay cheque with CPF deducted plus a 50cent donated to Chinese Fund.
What the heck is a ChingChong Fund by the way.

Previous ‘pay cheques’ came in wads of $50 notes.

The thickest wad (with the most number of 0s) came from my internship in Korea..
If only the notes came in dollar sign, then Woah I tell youuuuu…..

Comin’ back, the high light was while going to the bank to deposit the cheque with my friends, I spotted Kelly!

She said ‘THE COMMENCEMENT MAGAZINE PAYMENT IS READY FER COLLECTION.’
ZOMG.

EXACTLY AFTER A YEAR!
Can you believe it took so long? *gasp*

I actually gave up hope on getting the payment already.

Kelly said one of the companies hadn’t paid up so it’d be delayed.
To make matters more complicated, the person whom we liaise with in school resigned.

I decided to take it as another co-curricular activity (since I did numerous co-curricular activities back in year 1 and 2) and ferget about the payment.

Haha, so there! I fergot all about it till I met Kelly today.

God doesn’t short-change people!

I got my due payment! And know that I’m going to receive more as He’d always gives more than what one asks for!

P.S. : I spread the Good news to Regina today cause she’d get her payment too! And Amanda asked why am I a money plant. WHY?

LOL!

Time to Shine 2 - 31st May

New Creation Church’s NUS Cluster organized an excursion fer New Town Primary underprivileged children to Changi Airport’s Terminal 3!

-My caregroup took care of Malaysia Airlines class.

I was assigned to an Indian girl, Logadarshini, whom I was told had slow speech.
How ironic was that. Her mentor fer the day tends to talk a lil too fast.

The other two were Mich and her mentee, whomifergotthename.

At the beginning, she was extremely quiet.
She was practically whispering to me.
Most of the times I just nodded to acknowledge her replies.
Tried as I might, I could hardly make up what she was trying to say.

But things changed when we played games at the viewing gallery.

She spotted a fountain beyond the glazed walls and started yakking on about how her pet fishes and swimming etc.

Hallelujuah! Hahaha!

Oo.. And we talked about fishing too!
That was how the ice broke and the gold came out.
Interesting..

The girls in my caregroup and our mentees.

Hahaha, being fair stands out righttttt.

I love being fair.

Had Macs fer lunch..
Camped outside Macs cause we’re simply too big a group.

Then it’s ‘Suck your brain’ time fer the guys & boys!
The big brothers got their brains sucked and taupok-ed by the lil’ ones..

After lunch was drawing session.
Or they have to call it in such a way, ‘Affirmation’ time.
Why. To assert/declare what? It just didn’t sound appealing to me.

To 7 year olds, paper+crayons=drawing time.............

I helped her out with colour selection.

There! A wonderful piece of art from Loga!

Proud of her!

Alvin’s mentee here. Haha, Zheng Wen eats A LOT.

Macs lunch was his 4th meal of the day and he still had a whole boxful of homemade sushi in his bag.

Loga never stopped talking till we’re back on the bus.
I asked her to take a nap.
Hahaha.

From the conversations, I realised she didn’t have slow speech.
Her pronunciation of words just wasn’t clear.
Most probably, her teachers won’t know this till they communicate with her well enough.

Had a dance and drum performance done by Pri 4 students to convey their appreciation.

At the end of the day, every lil’ kid had a goodie bag of stationeries, BATA shoes, socks, and books and they went smiling all the way home!

Retard Fishing Trip - 27th May

Coming back to where I last stop, I would say this is my most memorable fishing trip at Bedok Jetty to date.

Though I’ve so many fishing khakis now, I can still remember something special about each fishing trip sans the date.

However, this was so retarded that I kept smiling as I lay on my bed at night (with mayee beside me), recapturing the crazy hilarious events that took place earlier in the afternoon.

On that particular Tuesday, Alvin, Mayee, Michelle, Shing Lam and I went as a group fer fishing.

Here’s Michelle RIDING on Shing Lam.

Throughout, Mayee and I kept POKING fun of them, with Alvin singing ‘Stick a banana in your ear’ and ‘Choogah Choogah Choo Choo’ from ‘Charlie the Unicorn’ show.

It was also my first time PITCHING UP A TENT at the jetty which I really think it was a good idea fer what came later on.

Yessss, the sky began to turn dark. The winds showed no mercy and threatened to blow the entire tent away.

And holy moly, our hair were standing! It’ static and lightning’s about to strike anytime.

My first experience was with Pat and Claud. Haha, always wanted to witness this phenomenon again, since *gulp* 7 years ago.

Now the magic’s back!

Here's a video of it!

My line got tangled up and a good lil’ Samaritan ran over to help me.

The first ever fish that Shing caught!

The rain stopped after a while.

But it soon got worse. In the midst of the storm we had to tie the tarpaulin over the tent to prevent water seepage.

Many a times I had to jump, catch and pull the tarpaulin down with all my might as it flapped furiously in the wind before someone came over to secure it. And when one of the raffia string broke loose, hell broke loose.

Mich and I had to scramble into the tent to act as weights.

Oo. I AM A TENT WEIGHT!
Geez. All these while, Alvin was shouting commands like a lunatic.
Nothing as cool like this photo you see here with his long rod sticking out.
The ah peks were staring and smiling at us. I felt like the whole thing was a joke.
When we finally settled, Mayee, Alvin and Shing were the most drenched. DUH EMILY..
Hahaha, but we’re still at all smiles.
WET LOOK. *wolf whistles*
In the tent, we played card games and consumed obsene amount of junk.
Dinner was at Siglap (o, Ribena Lemon tastes refreshingly great) and dessert at Gelare before Alvin and Mayee came to stay over at my house again!

A hiatus from blogging

The past week I'd been Staying back for NO PAY OT, and once till 1am.

Plus I had to come back to work on a Saturday..

But my friend commented I still looked fresh and cheery.

It’s a disguise.

I felt like a Sung Muey (a dried prune) after entire week in an airconditioned environment and all that energy drained.

And I must say.. My eyes hurt.so.much, I didn’t turn on my laptop fer days

BUT NOW I AM REJUVENATED!!

I'll be moisturising myself with annointed olive oil next week!

Hurhurhur, can't wait.

May there be NO MORE OT in JESUS' NAME!!
AMEN!

Makeover Special

Winkers or wankers?
Make-up or make-believe?
Let's delve deeper (deep deep inside) to find out..

Hey hey! What are you looking at!

Ladies.
They've brushes, combs, paint and wax for just about every type of body hair.

Check out my curled lashes, they flap and flutter like no other.
Wooot.

Foxy felines love to get layed; their facial expressions say it all.

Three wombs and a wombat on display.

Gotta suck em all!

First Day @ Work

First day at work was fun with friends to the left and right of me.

Was allocated a temporary seat at a ‘God-forsaken’ corner.
But I love it here.

4 year 3 interns at this bay.
Around 10 more elsewhere.

Imagine what it would have been if there were none.

It's great that I can listen to my mp3 player too!
It had been left on the shelf since I came back from Korea.

The only downside's that I can't access to some sites nor blog..
Amazingly, Chick Tracks comic are available though the controversial site is banned in Singapore!

Fer now and till July, I'd just have to type and send an e-mail to myself during work before returning home to pepper the blog with fabulous photos and post!

Read Fishing Trip Part I - Calm before the storm!
I shall be touching more on part 2 soon!

Excerpt from tag left behind by a certain someone replying to Alvin's post..
